Martyr's Day, India, January 30

Today is the anniversary of the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. As a man who chose peace and non violence to accomplish his actions of freeing his country this is one of the most tragic ways for his life to end.

There is two minutes of silence observed across India as well as the most senior members of the government pay their respects at the memorial of Gandhi.

Data Privacy Day, January 28

A day the 29 countries in Europe and North America set aside to promote data privacy, to try and educate people, particularly teens and children.

Unfortunately this is the only thing I could really find for today but I do believe it is an important subject so don't feel bad about promoting it. We should be helping people who are younger or do not understand the way information and data can spread across the internet through social networks. It is a good idea to help teach those or even learn a thing or two ourselves.

International Holocaust Remembrance Day, January 27

In 1945 the army of the Soviet Union liberated the Auschwitz concentration camp. This is a day to take a moment to remeber what happened to those who suffered under the Nazi's rule, to make sure that this will never happen again.
