New Year's Day, January 1, World Wide

So the first post of 2014, I don't like to make New Year's resolutions as I think that sets you up for failure. There are many traditions that sournd the first of the year whether it is today or as some calandars show it another day of the year. One of the big ones in the United States is the making of resolutions, not sure if this is just the U.S. or not actually, promeses to yourself for things that you will do for the coming year. I made the joke many years ago that my New Year's Resolution was to not make another resolution, which I have successfully kept since that point. I will say though that I will be doing my best to keep this blog going and branch out to the podcast soon.
Some of the local traditions (I live in the southern part of the U.S.) is to soak black eyed peas from the day before New Years to the day of, then eat them. This is to bring good luck. Another custom is that whatever you do on New Year's Day you will be doing for the rest of the year. This year I will spend with friends and working on the blog, so I hope that this will be the case.
But no matter what hope you have a great year!
Jeffrey
